Hello! In 2007, I earned a dual major in Special Education and Elementary Education from Alvernia University in Reading, PA. While teaching, I earned my Masters Degree in Special Education from The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ. I feel my degrees have helped me build my background knowledge, but my experience teaching in the classroom since 2007 is where I have learned the most, and continue to learn how to teach better every day.
Experience
Since 2007 I have been a teacher in public schools. I have had experience teaching in 4th grade through Seniors in High School. The past 4 years I have been teaching Special Education students Math at the high school level; Algebra, Geometry, and Personal Finance. I currently have past students in college, and they contact me when they are in a math class and having difficulty. Everything I do in my classroom and with my past students is using what the students know and bringing their knowledge to the level their teacher/professor is asking for.

I love being a teacher! The best part to me is getting to know the students beyond just their ability in the classroom, but getting to know their personality. I have found the more I get to know the student, the better I can gear my lessons to the students in my class. Many students view math and school as a very boring part of their day. But if I can make the students laugh, and break down the material to their level, they tend to want to complete the work to show off their new skills! Outside of teaching I love traveling; whether it be around the world or just a weekend trip somewhere! And when it includes traveling to see family...it can't get any better!
